FIMOTIONS is founded in 2013 with a mission. The trigger is the climate change that threatens our planet. We believe that we should take immediate actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to save our planet. Since our expertise lies in developing innovative sustainable mobility solutions, we want to help policy makers and together with them realising a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from the mobility sector.
Fimotions aspires to be an important partner for policy makers to bring a positive change to the world by continuously creating a planet-friendly mobility system.
Today more than half of the world’s population lives in urban areas and this figure is expected to reach 75% by 2050. Cities are becoming more and more important in our society. At the same time, cities are becoming increasingly complex.
Rapid urbanisation is one of the most pressing global issues, and this creates challenges for the mobility sector. How to accommodate the mobility needs of the urban dwellers and to minimise the negative impacts of mobility on our planet?
Sustainable mobility also means a mobility system for everyone, regardless their wealth, their education, or whether they have private vehicles or not. These days we call this a people-centered philosophy. Sustainable mobility does not also mean that we rule out private vehicles. It is an integrated system that works sustainably, all modes count!

In the late 20th century, when we discussed about mobility, it was mainly about the volume of mobility demand and how to accommodate this in terms of transport modes and infrastructure. Nowadays, our mobility system is dealing with completely different things. Think of, among other things, big data, shared mobility, Mobility as a Service (MaaS), and app-based on demand transport.
What do these things have in common? Technology!
Technology has been advancing mobility rapidly, and its pace will only be increasing. In the near future, self-driving vehicles will fill the roads, car sharing will be much easier for everybody, everything will be more connected than ever before, and the line between private and public transport will soon be blurred. This is the world we are looking at.
As sustainable mobility experts, we realise that this will create new challenges for sustainable moblity. We need to continuously shifting our paradigm in order to keep up with this changing world.
We will embrace this, together with you. For now and for the future, for us and for the next generations.
